The Kids in the Kitchen Health Fair was an
event that was held at the Mosaic District (2910 District Avenue, Fairfax,
VA 22031) in front of Mom’s Organic and
Red Apron today from 9am-1pm. I spoke with Candice Bennett who is part of the
Junior League of Northern Virginia. She mentioned that this is their fifth annual
event in promoting healthy eating habits, raising awareness of nutrition,
combatting obesity, and to encourage kids to participate in regular physical
activity. This event definitely did so as they had different fitness demonstrations
including Zumba, the INTotal Health Truck for kids to dance, various interactive
booths (the spinning wheel), and healthy snacks.
